Board & Train Puppy Complete
All board & train programs will be scheduled after in-person evaluation
What's Included?
Puppies (4-9 months) spend 7-10 days in board and train followed by 2 private training sessions, then return 6-8 months later for 3 weeks of board and train followed by 3 private sessions. This program provides early socialization, foundations for good manners, and introduces basic obedience. When the dog returns as a young adult their obedience is solidified, high level distractions are introduced, and any behavior modification needs are addressed. In total the dog will complete 4 weeks of training with us and 5 private sessions with you. By the time the program is completed you will have a well trained dog and the knowledge to maintain the training independently. Extra fees may be added for dogs who require daily medication, raw food diet, or ecollar training. During the first week your puppy will be introduced to Good, No, Place, Heel, Sit, Down, Come, and Kennel. This does NOT mean they will be fully trained on these, they are puppies and require consistent follow through by all members of your household. During their 2nd stay we will refine commands already started, add automatic Sit to the Heel and Come commands, add implied Stay to Sit and Down commands, introduce Break as a release from stays, add high level distractions to all commands, and address any behavior problems that may have developed as your pup matured. Good and No are behavior markers used to communicate wether or not we like what the dog is actively doing. Kennel is taught to mean enter a crate or kennel and stay inside until released wether or not the door/gate is open. This helps dogs stay calm and feel safe at home in a crate and helps them experience less anxiety at vets, groomers, and other facilities. Place teaches the dog to go to an assigned spot and stay there until released. Break is our release command that lets the dog know they did a great job and they're all done. Heel means the dog should walk at your side and we add an automatic sit to this skill meaning when you stop, they sit without giving an addition command. We add the same skill to the Come command so the dog will return to you and sit. As we teach Sit and Down we imply the stay skill. The dogs learn the sit command means to put their bottom on the ground and stay there until released. The Down command means to lay down and stay there until released. This prevents you from using more commands than necessary to convey the same message.
